Welcome to Hypertherapy. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline the rules and expectations for using our website, booking services, and receiving mobile massage therapy treatments.
By accessing our website, booking an appointment, or receiving services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
1. About Hypertherapy
Hypertherapy provides professional mobile massage therapy services across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. All treatments are delivered by Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
We operate under the standards set by:
-
The Massage Therapy Act (Ontario)
-
The Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
-
The Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
2. Booking and Appointments
-
Appointments can be booked online through our website, by email, or directly with your therapist.
-
All clients must complete a confidential health history form before treatment to ensure safe and effective care.
-
You must provide accurate, up-to-date information when booking and filling out intake forms.
-
Clients under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian’s consent before receiving treatment.
Hypertherapy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue treatment if it is deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or outside the therapist’s professional scope of practice.
3. Service Area and Travel Policy
Hypertherapy currently provides mobile massage therapy services in Toronto, Markham, and Scarborough.
-
Travel fees may apply for locations outside the standard service area.
-
Clients are responsible for providing a safe, clean, and accessible treatment space.
-
Parking or building entry details must be communicated in advance.
-
Hypertherapy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service at any location deemed unsafe, unsanitary, or inaccessible.
4. Payment and Receipts
-
Payment is due at the time of service, unless arranged otherwise.
-
Accepted payment methods include credit card, debit, or e-transfer, depending on the therapist’s setup.
-
Receipts will be issued under the name of the treating RMT and include their registration number for insurance claim purposes.
-
Clients are responsible for submitting their receipts to their insurance provider. Hypertherapy does not bill insurance companies directly.
5. Cancellation and No-Show Policy
We value your time and ours. To maintain fairness and efficiency for all clients:
-
24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
-
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
-
No-shows (missed appointments without notice) may be charged the full treatment fee.
-
Exceptions may be made in emergencies or at the therapist’s discretion.
Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in suspension of booking privileges.
6. Refunds
All massage therapy services are non-refundable once rendered.
If you prepaid for a session and cancel in accordance with our cancellation policy, your payment may be credited toward a future appointment or refunded at the therapist’s discretion.
For more details, please review our Refund Policy page.
7. Professional Conduct and Client Responsibilities
We are committed to maintaining a safe, professional, and respectful environment for both clients and therapists.
Clients are expected to:
-
Treat therapists with respect and maintain appropriate boundaries.
-
Provide accurate health information and inform the therapist of any changes.
-
Communicate any discomfort or pain during treatment.
-
Ensure the treatment space (for mobile sessions) is clean, safe, and accessible.
Harassment, inappropriate behavior, or unsafe environments will result in immediate termination of the session, and the full fee will be charged.
8. Health and Safety
-
Treatments are only provided when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
-
If a client presents with a condition that is contraindicated for massage, the therapist may modify or postpone treatment.
-
Therapists maintain infection prevention protocols and follow CMTO standards for hygiene, draping, and professionalism.
9. Limitation of Liability
While every effort is made to provide safe and effective care, Hypertherapy and its contractors are not liable for:
-
Any injury, loss, or damage resulting from the misuse of services or failure to disclose relevant health information.
-
Issues arising from technical errors, booking system downtime, or website availability.
Massage therapy does not replace medical care. Clients should consult a physician or healthcare provider for medical conditions beyond the therapist’s scope of practice.
10. Privacy and Confidentiality
All client information is collected and stored in accordance with PHIPA and PIPEDA.
Your health information is confidential and will not be shared without your consent, except as required by law or CMTO regulations.
