What does postural massage involve?

Postural massage begins with an assessment of how you stand, sit, and move. Your therapist identifies muscle imbalances — tight muscles pulling you out of alignment and weak muscles failing to support proper posture. Treatment combines targeted massage to release tight areas with activation techniques for underused muscles.

Who needs posture correction massage?

Anyone experiencing recurring pain from poor posture benefits from this treatment. Common candidates include desk workers with forward head posture or rounded shoulders, people with chronic lower back pain from sitting, and anyone noticing their pain keeps returning despite regular massage.

How is postural massage different from regular massage?

Regular massage focuses on relieving tension in the moment. Postural massage takes an assessment-first approach to identify why tension keeps building in the first place. Treatment addresses root causes — not just symptoms — and includes home care exercises to reinforce improvements between sessions.

Can massage permanently fix my posture?

Massage alone won’t permanently fix posture, but it’s a critical part of the process. By releasing tight muscles and improving mobility, massage creates the conditions for better posture. Combined with the home care exercises we provide and conscious habit changes, lasting improvements are absolutely achievable.

Is posture correction massage covered by insurance?

Yes. Our therapists are CMTO-registered RMTs, so sessions are eligible for coverage under most extended health plans including Sun Life, Manulife, and Green Shield. Insurance receipts are provided after every session.
